Responsibilities
Perform a wide range of secretarial functions to include typing, filing, computer knowledge, organizational and people skills in a customer friendly environment within Erlanger Health System
Compose letters, utilizing Microsoft Office computer skills
Adapt to a constantly changing work environment with frequent interruptions and flexible hours
Be a team player and capable of multitasking
Sit at a desk for extended periods of time utilizing computer keyboard and screen
Arrange appointments, placing, receiving and returning telephone calls and messages
Coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change
Manage the practices' patient population
Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation
Qualification
Required
High school graduate
Two years post high school education or related work experience
General office practice, business communication or comparable combination of education and experience
Two years of secretarial experience and in the health care setting
Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Adaptability in a seamless manner to constantly changing work environment required
Frequent interruptions; flexible hours
Must be a team player and capable of multitasking
Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time utilizing computer keyboard and screen
Arranging appointments, placing, receiving and returning telephone calls and messages
Knowledge of medical terminology
Preferred
2 yr. Associate Degree in secretarial/business or comparable education
Medical transcription experience
