They are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer to own the full ML lifecycle, from research to production deployment, and to collaborate closely with founders and engineers to translate workflows into ML formulations.

Responsibilities
Own the full ML lifecycle — from problem scoping and research through productionization, deployment, and monitoring
Design, train, and iterate on custom deep learning models that understand CAD workflows and predict high-quality next-step design suggestions
Turn messy geometry and design data into usable training signals, and continuously improve models based on performance, reliability, and customer feedback
Build and maintain robust Python training and evaluation pipelines, including preprocessing, experimentation, and offline/online metrics
Architect model serving and backend components so ML features are fast, reliable, and easy to integrate into CAD environments
Collaborate closely with founders, backend engineers, and early customers (mechanical / hardware engineers) to translate real-world workflows into ML formulations
Establish best practices for experimentation, logging, and model comparison
Stay current on relevant ML research (e.g. sequence models, geometric deep learning, representation learning) and apply it pragmatically where it matters
Qualification
Required
Deep ML expertise — 4+ years of hands-on ML experience (or equivalent Master's/PhD research), with a track record of training and improving deep models (not just calling hosted APIs)
Strong Python engineering — you write clean, production-ready Python with thoughtful abstractions, tests, and documentation
Modern deep learning frameworks — expert with PyTorch (preferred), or TensorFlow / JAX; comfortable implementing custom architectures, losses, and training loops
End-to-end ownership — experience building ML systems from data to deployment, including experimentation, hyperparameter tuning, and shipping models into real products
Applied problem-solving mindset — able to turn open-ended, ambiguous product requirements into concrete ML solutions
Strong collaboration and communication — you can explain trade-offs and model behavior to both technical and non-technical partners
Startup mindset — comfortable moving fast, wearing multiple hats, and operating with high ownership and low process
Preferred
Experience with geometry, graphics, CAD, 3D representations, or robotics
Familiarity with cloud ML platforms (AWS / GCP)
Backend experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
