Program Coordinator - Early Learning & Literacy

Sonoma County Office of Education is seeking a Program Coordinator for Early Learning & Literacy. The position involves providing leadership and technical assistance in early literacy practices and supporting new teachers through mentoring and professional development.

Education Management

Responsibilities

Provides leadership and technical assistance in integrating the Teaching Pyramid Model
Supports implementation of evidence-based early literacy practices
Advances the Reggio Emilia inspired approaches in preparation for full implementation by 2028
Serves as a connection to the Teacher Induction Program, supporting new transitional kindergarten and kindergarten teachers through mentoring and professional learning opportunities
Engages in community collaboration and outreach to expand access to high-quality early learning experiences
Partners with Local Education Agencies to provide technical assistance and capacity building

Required

Strong understanding of early childhood education, including both social-emotional and academic supports
Experience teaching early learners
Familiarity with the Teaching Pyramid Model
Experience coaching
A completed signed and dated online Edjoin application
A letter describing personal qualifications and reason(s) for interest in the position
Three (3) letters of recommendation (dated within the past year)
A copy of a valid California Multiple Subjects Teaching Credential
A valid California Administrative Services Credential
Must be fingerprinted and a satisfactory Department of Justice and Federal Bureau of Investigation records check must be received by SCOE, prior to employment
TB testing will be required upon employment
Clearance from all former employers for AB2534 prior to employment
