Fleet Trailer Mechanic

Bashas' is seeking a Fleet Trailer Mechanic responsible for the efficient repair and maintenance of semi-truck trailer equipment. The role involves diagnosing and repairing trailers, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and repairing semi-truck trailers
Performing all assigned work in a safe and efficient manner that contributes to the safety as well as the financial best interest of Bashas’
Performing preventative maintenance as well as yearly DOT inspections
Welding experience is desired
Making quick repairs for drivers requesting work on their trailers to be completed prior to starting off on their scheduled deliveries to stores
Inputting all repairs completed as well as parts used on work orders to be imputed into RTA fleet management system
Meeting and/or exceeding all established Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, State, local and company regulations, policies and procedures
Performs other duties as needed or assigned by management
Learn and repair ABS brakes systems as needed
Repairs of Cosmetics, such as side paint. Decals, and Front and Side Panels
Repairs rear doors both swing and rolling
Repairs air brake systems

Applicants must be at least 18-years old
Consistently demonstrate a mechanical aptitude towards the maintenance and repair of semi-truck trailers
Pass a drug and background screen
With all shop team members and drivers, remain helpful, tactful and courteous at all times
Work energetically and independently to accomplish tasks and to meet goals and objectives with little oversight by shop supervision
Work in an environment that includes: petroleum liquids and fumes, loud noises, dust and fluctuating temperatures
Communicate well with team members and supervisors, including the ability to explain problems and communicate solutions to those problems
Listen well, taking the time to use the information presented by others to help resolve work problems and issues
Problems must be solved analytically using deductive reasoning to resolve problems and challenges
Lift and maneuver at least 60 pounds
Use hands and digits to repair machinery
Read instruction manuals, databases and company reports
Use computers, keyboards and computer software to run reports and input work completed and supplies used
