Health Informaticist

Responsibilities

Identify and facilitate the adoption of clinical information systems and technologies that support and improve the accurate capture and reporting of data elements
Serve as the primary liaison between external clinical teams and IEHP operations, quality and information technology
Identify opportunities and facilitate the identification and implementation of solutions utilizing evidence-based practices, data, regulatory requirements, and quality improvement techniques
Enhance the nursing and clinical teams’ use of technology and analytics to improve the health of populations

Required

Minimum of five (5) years of clinical/health information systems or similar experience required
Master's degree in Nursing Informatics, Health Informatics, or a related field from an accredited institution required
In lieu of a Master's degree, a minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and two (2) years of additional relevant work experience is required for this position
Strong critical thinking skills required
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational skills
Strong word processing skills involving computer keyboard and screens
Proven ability to demonstrate sound analytical reasoning
Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines and changing priorities and be detailed oriented
Proven ability to work well in a team environment and build and maintain effective working relationships with Team Members and stakeholders at all levels

Preferred

Experience in enterprise grade EMR build/maintenance, preferably Epic or Cerner preferred
Quality-based certification a plus. Certification in informatics or related fields preferred
Possession of an active, unrestricted, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license issued by the California BRN preferred
