Responsibilities

Prepare and issue purchase orders. Assist in negotiations with vendors to secure favorable pricing and payment terms
Facilitate the prompt procurement and delivery of items, materials, equipment, and components to ensure seamless inventory management, supply continuity, and uninterrupted site services to support marine operation and maintenance activities
Utilize existing vendors, negotiated pricing, and delivery schedules, to provide overall value to internal customers
Manage purchase orders from requisition to receipt, ensuring accuracy and timely processing
Support cross-functional teams and special projects as needed
Coordinate with suppliers to confirm order status, delivery schedules, resolve delays or shortages, damaged goods, or invoicing discrepancies
Collaborate with internal departments (such as Operations, Warehouse, and Maintenance) to forecast procurement needs and optimal inventory levels
Maintain up-to-date accurate procurement and supplier records, including price lists, contracts, terms, and delivery performance metrics
Participate in vendor onboarding, evaluations, and periodic performance reviews
Assist with cost analysis and cost-saving initiatives, including identifying alternate sources
Ensure compliance with company policies, quality standards, and industry regulations in all procurement activities
Support recurring physical inventory counts, and internal controls as needed
Continuously seek process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and cost-effectiveness within the procurement function
Regularly operate a forklift or company vehicle to move or deliver orders

Required

High school education or GED is required
Ability to meet a regular work schedule
Ability to work overtime and/or flex schedule when required
Regular attendance and timeliness are essential functions of this position. Daily physical presence is required
Ability to plan, organize and prioritize work to meet schedules/deadlines
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and effective problem-solving skills
Ability to work alone or as part of a team with minimal supervision
Ability to change focus and job duties in a fast moving, time restricted environment
PC skills required: Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, and keyboarding proficiency
Use of a personal mobile device for essential work tasks such as multi-factor authentication (MFA), accessing Dayforce, and receiving time-sensitive communications

Preferred

Two-year college or technical education in purchasing, or related experience and training in procurement, supply chain coordination, warehousing, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in Workday and Trimble TMT Fleet Maintenance software is preferred
