Administrative Assistant V - Mail Room/Criminal History - Indianapolis

Responsibilities

Prepare, deliver, and pick up all General Headquarters mail
Process and ensure proper postage is affixed on all mail
Maintain equipment utilized in mail handling
Shred Identified documents and maintain equipment
Process requests for case reports
Gather and sort all incoming/outgoing mail
Route General Headquarters mail to its proper destination
Sort, wrap, weigh, and place postage on UPS mail
Order and pick up mail room supplies from the Post Office and Quartermaster
Keep up-to-date on new UPS and US Postage Rules/Regulations
Shred documents
Complete case reports and Transcript requests: Microfilm, Microfiche, and through RMS
Perform Criminal History requests and other duties as needed

Required

Must be a high school graduate or equivalent GED
Ability to learn UPS, US Postal rates, certified and registered mail rates
Ability to operate Microfilm, Microfiche, and access RMS
Ability to function independently
Ability to lift and move heavy items up to 30 lbs
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must be able to apply US postage and UPS regulations
Must be able to gather, sort, and distribute mail, packages, and supplies
Must be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritize work, and meet deadlines
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation
Applicants are asked to submit a complete work history
All applicants are required to submit copies of their high school transcript or GED certificate, any college transcripts, technical certificates, and a military DD214 (if applicable)
