Responsibilities
Oversee laboratory testing and workflow from specimen processing through results reporting
Monitor specimen quality, turnaround time, and service-level expectations
Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
Serve as a technical and leadership resource for laboratory staff
Support training, competency assessments, and professional development
Identify and lead process improvement initiatives
Participate in quality improvement programs, safety initiatives, and inspections
Collaborate with leadership on SOP development and compliance initiatives
Provide direction, coaching, and mentoring to direct reports
Assist with hiring, performance evaluations, promotions, and disciplinary actions
Conduct competency assessments and periodic performance reviews
Review timecards, approve time off, and ensure staffing coverage
Resolve operational and quality-related issues
Cover laboratory benches as needed
Qualification
Required
6–8 years of clinical laboratory experience
Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, or related field
Florida Supervisor License in Clinical Chemistry (Serology preferred)
ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification
Strong technical expertise in Clinical Chemistry
Prior experience as a Medical Technologist, MLS, Lead, or Supervisor
