Responsibilities
Assist in defining, decomposing, and tracking mechanical requirements to ensure the final product meets mission objectives
Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and other teams as needed
Document mechanical interfaces and work with the system engineer to ensure all requirements are included
Help define verification methods and approaches for mechanical requirements
Help execute tests such as Thermal Vacuum (TVAC) or Vibration testing; review and present engineering data and artifacts that verify requirements have been met
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program at an accredited university in Systems, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering
Solid understanding of mechanical engineering principles and design methodology
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to travel for in-person orientation and program kickoff as well as for final presentation at program completion
Preferred
Experience with mechanical design software (e.g. SolidWorks)
Previous internship, coursework, or project experience related to mechanical engineering
