The role involves executing upgrade activities across several hundred servers, following documented procedures, and ensuring systems are stable post-upgrade.

Responsibilities
Support a Windows Server Operating System Refresh initiative by executing upgrade activities across approximately several hundred servers
Follow a fully documented, step‑by‑step process to upgrade servers from Windows Server 2016 and 2019 to Windows Server 2022
Join servers to the appropriate domains
Validate connectivity
Perform basic post‑upgrade functionality checks to ensure systems are stable
Handle routine troubleshooting of network or communication issues
Escalate more complex problems to senior staff as needed
Maintain accurate documentation
Provide status updates
Work collaboratively within a structured, process‑driven environment to ensure consistent execution across all migrations
Qualification
Required
Hands-on familiarity with Windows Server operating systems (2016-2022)
Basic understanding of Active Directory concepts and domain join procedures
Ability to follow structured, documented upgrade scripts and standard operating procedures
Strong attention to detail and ability to execute repetitive technical steps consistently
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, process-driven environment
Strong written communication skills for documenting work performed
Preferred
Prior experience with server refresh or OS migration projects
Exposure to enterprise or mid‑size IT infrastructure environments
Familiarity with ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Remedy, Jira, etc.)
Experience performing system upgrades, patching, or maintenance tasks
Understanding of virtualization environments (VMware, Hyper‑V)
Basic troubleshooting skills related to network connectivity, DNS, and server communication
