Responsibilities

Conduct soil and site evaluations for on-site sewage disposal systems in compliance with state and local regulations
Provide technical support to clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies for on-site sewage disposal system projects
Perform site inspections and evaluations to determine site suitability, soil characteristics, and system design options
Develop and prepare detailed site and soil evaluation reports, system design plans, and permit applications
Monitor and inspect the installation of on-site sewage disposal systems to ensure compliance with state and local regulations
Provide technical guidance and training to other staff members as necessary
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all soil and site evaluations, design plans, and installation inspections
Conduct research and keep abreast of developments in the field of on-site sewage disposal systems

Required

Alternative On-site Soil Evaluator (AOSE) license
Bachelor's degree in Soil Science, Environmental Science, or related field
Minimum of 4 years of experience in on-site sewage disposal systems in Virginia
Knowledge of Virginia state and local regulations pertaining to on-site sewage disposal systems
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software
