Responsibilities

As an Engineering Intern at CalAmp, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in building and deploying highly scalable cloud-native microservices
You will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and deploy scalable and reliable services using open source and cloud technologies

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
Basic understanding of object-oriented programming concepts
Knowledge of Java programming language
Will be local to the area in Summer 2026 and can do a hybrid in office (T-Th) at our Carlsbad office
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a willingness to learn
Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
Tentative internship dates: Tuesday, June 16, 2026 – Thursday, September 3, 2026

Preferred

Familiarity with microservices architecture and principles
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) or containerization tools like Docker
Knowledge of RESTful APIs and web services development
Familiarity with databases (SQL or NoSQL) and data storage solutions
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Experience with version control systems
