ELECTRICAL ENGINEER V
City and County of Honolulu is seeking a registered professional Electrical Engineer to review complex and major building electrical projects. In this role, you will ensure electrical plans comply with the National Electric Code and applicable regulations while evaluating new materials and devices for safety and suitability.

Responsibilities
Review and approve electrical plans, specifications, and calculations for major buildings and structures
Work with architects, engineers, and the public to ensure electrical designs meet code and answers questions about design
Coordinate with electrical inspectors to ensure field installations match approved plans and code requirements
Explain electrical engineering decisions in writing and recommend updates to the electrical code as needed
Qualification
Required
Must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment
Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor's degree in an engineering specialty
One year of registered professional electrical engineering experience
Possession of an appropriate valid driver's license, as required
Possession of a valid license as a professional Electrical Engineer in the State of Hawaii
Preferred
Experience reviewing or designing electrical systems for buildings or building infrastructure
Familiarity with electrical codes and electrical plan review processes
