Akkodis is seeking a Java Developer for a Contract with a client in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate will design and maintain distributed microservices and build high‑throughput Kafka pipelines, while also deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain Java‑based microservices within a distributed, cloud‑native environment
Build and optimize high‑throughput, low‑latency data pipelines using Apache Kafka (producers, consumers, streams, schema management)
Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot containerized applications on OpenShift or Kubernetes‑based platforms
Implement CI/CD pipelines and support DevOps practices to ensure seamless, reliable software delivery
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on architecture, solution design, and technical requirements
Monitor and optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security while resolving production issues

Required

Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field
8–10 years of professional experience in Java development with strong exposure to microservices and distributed systems

Strong practical expertise deploying and troubleshooting applications on OpenShift or similar Kubernetes-based platforms
