Responsibilities
Lead consultants and technical teams to ensure effective execution of design intent and delivery of high‑quality implementation documents
Partner with the PIC/PM to develop and manage the production schedule, ensuring milestones and deadlines are clearly defined and achieved
Prepare, review, and coordinate implementation documents, ensuring alignment with QA/QC procedures, HKS standards, industry best practices, and quality expectations
Oversee technical resolution and coordination for assigned project components
Conduct and/or lead code analysis, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and zoning requirements
Coordinate interdisciplinary design collaboration, including leading consultant work sessions
Maintain strong, open communication with clients, providing clear guidance throughout the project lifecycle
Collaborate with project managers, clients, agencies, consultants, and contractors to integrate engineering systems, respond to RFIs, and support scope adjustments as needed
Prepare client presentation materials and, when required, present design concepts and drawings
Apply persuasive communication and negotiation skills when addressing complex or critical issues
Conduct product and materials research; support designers with evaluation of systems and material options
Ensure accurate and appropriate application of products and materials based on market availability and best practices
Maintain awareness of risk‑management concerns and escalate issues to the PIC/PM as appropriate
Lead team meetings to address project coordination, design issues, and technical challenges
Participate in on‑site visits, field reviews, and project meetings, thoroughly documenting findings
Prepare and/or review meeting minutes for consultant coordination sessions
Qualification
Required
Professional degree in Architecture (accredited)
Active architectural registration required
Preferred
8+ years of experience preferred
Sustainable design accreditation (e.g., LEED) preferred
