Responsibilities

Provides a broad range of care and services to Patients, including but not limited to EKG, phlebotomy, equipment cleaning, and stocking of rooms under the supervision of a licensed nurse
Performs a wide range of secretarial duties, including but not limited to organizing paperwork, answering the phone, paging, and receiving of ED patients into electronic medical record
Performs 1:1 sitting when necessary
Assures the practice of the Patient and Family Centered Care Model in an environment that exemplifies best practice

Qualification

Basic Life Support (BLS)Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)Patient care experienceCustomer service skillsPrioritizeWork under stressCommunication skills

Required

High School Diploma or Equivalent
Basic Life Support [BLS] - Generic - HR Only required
Certified Nurse Aide [CNA] - State Specific Certification Board required
Emergency Medical Technician [EMT License] - Generic - HR Only required
ED: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting
ICU: 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant
OPIC, Perioperative, IV Therapy: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant
Must be able to work in a fast paced, often stressful environment
Must have good communication skills
Must have the ability to set and reset priorities
Must have excellent customer service skills
Ability to work in a fast passed critical care environment

Preferred

ED: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant in an Emergency setting preferred
ICU: 1 year experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred
OPIC, Perioperative, IV Therapy: experience as a medical technician or patient care assistant preferred
