Responsibilities
Provide friendly, professional, and thorough customer service
Dispatch products and material for delivery
Enter requisitions for purchase orders
Process incoming invoices from vendors
Promote team atmosphere at location and across the division
Assist in processing paperwork for systems such as accounts payable, payroll, etc
Assist staff with customer service responsibilities
May be called upon at the discretion of Managers to perform other duties
Qualification
Required
High school diploma required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting clearly and concisely with drivers, customers, and other key players involved in the process
Detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy with the ability to multi-task. Handling necessary documentation and maintaining accurate records, including deliveries and driver information, while ensuring compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards
Accuracy in record-keeping, route planning, and proficiency in Excel is a must
A good understanding of trucking industry operations, regulations (including Hours of Service regulations and Department of Transportation regulations), and best practices are important
The ability to manage multiple trucks, schedules, and priorities in a fast-paced environment is crucial
Preferred
Prior experience with accounts payable, general accounting, and billing related tasks
Familiarity with transportation management software, GPS tracking systems, load scheduling, and other relevant technologies
