Responsibilities

Perform technical reviews for new and existing energy storage related equipment and systems, including individual components, control systems, and system architectures
Perform detailed technical research related to energy storage modeling, technology development, and manufacturing trends
Perform energy modeling of systems that include energy storage plus generation (solar, wind, or thermal) or stand-alone energy storage and interaction with the grid
Support development of internal tools and databases related to technology, performance, and cost of energy storage technologies and other technologies
Continuously monitor and evaluate new technologies and industry developments related to energy storage and EVs
Write and review due diligence reports
Contribute to technical and cost proposal development
Interface with clients on key deliverables
Support business development efforts including identifying, qualifying, and supporting the pursuit of both follow-on work and new business opportunities
Support business development efforts including client discussions as a technical expert, and marketing and thought leadership to external audiences

Required

Bachelor's Degree in electrical engineering or related field with a focus on energy storage and/or power systems

Preferred

By start date, acceptance/ enrollment verification, or at least 9 credit hours of completed graduate-level courses in Energy, Policy, Climate, Economics, Mathematics, Business, Operations Research, Engineering, or related field
Knowledge of energy storage applications, technologies, integration, and valuation
Familiarity with regulatory standards (UL, IEC, NEC) and EV technologies
Up to 2 years' experience in energy storage design, modeling, or component analysis
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Programming skills in R, Python, MATLAB, or VBA
Understanding of linear optimization and production cost modeling (preferred)
Consulting, project management, and business development experience
Ability to collaborate with technical and commercial stakeholders
Passion for sustainability and clean energy
