10+ years expAMER Technology, Inc. is seeking a Senior Java Applications Programmer for the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange (MHBE). The role involves designing, developing, and supporting enterprise Java applications while ensuring compliance with security standards and governance processes.

Responsibilities
Design, develop, enhance, maintain, and support enterprise Java/J2EE applications
Translate business and functional requirements into detailed technical designs and application code
Develop and execute unit tests, integration tests, and support user acceptance testing
Build and consume secure RESTful APIs and support front-end integrations
Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, and architecture discussions
Work closely with business analysts, QA teams, and infrastructure teams
Follow MHBE security standards, SDLC, PMO governance, and change management processes
Provide support during off-hours, weekends, or holidays as required for production needs
Qualification
Required
Minimum 10 + years of enterprise Java EE application development
Strong hands-on experience with Spring framework and REST APIs
Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases and complex SQL queries
Proven experience designing and supporting n-tier or microservices-based architectures
Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
Healthcare, Medicaid, eligibility, or health insurance marketplace systems
Experience with Angular or modern front-end frameworks (Angular/React)
CI/CD pipeline and build/deployment automation experience
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum development practices
Prior experience in state or government IT environments
