Senior User Experience Designer
Design Observer is an international design studio seeking a Senior User Experience Designer to join their San Francisco office. The role focuses on defining and shaping the end-to-end customer experience for both physical and digital products, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to create thoughtful design solutions.

Responsibilities
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients to identify opportunities, define requirements, and contribute to thoughtful, well-crafted design solutions
Lead UX work on defined product and service areas, supporting the discovery, ideation, and execution of user experiences aligned with business and technical goals
Plan workshops to uncover, and then clearly articulate the business and technology opportunities and constraints that will inform the product possibilities
Design and conduct research activities, as appropriate to each project, to understand user needs, product opportunities, and usability
Identify and analyze competitive and comparable products to identify patterns, best practices, and areas of opportunity
Create well-targeted personas and user journeys that capture key user needs, behaviors, and motivations to be addressed through product design
Produce briefs, storyboards, scenarios, and other experience deliverables that clearly describe the desired experiences to project teams and stakeholders
Develop interaction architectures and digital sketches for hardware and software interfaces that elegantly accommodate required features and usability goals
Contribute positively to the culture of collaborative design at Ammunition
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of UX experience, including user research planning and execution, persona development, and interface design across digital and physical products
Portfolio demonstrating a thoughtful, systems-level approach to balancing business goals, technical constraints, and user needs across multiple industries
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas verbally and in writing, and to create compelling, well-structured presentations for diverse stakeholders
Highly proficient in modern design tools for wireframing, prototyping, and communicating design intent (e.g., Figma, Miro, Framer, After Effects)
Strong systems thinker, able to understand and track complex ecosystems, identify relationships across touchpoints, and design cohesive end-to-end experiences
Comfortable working in ambiguity, able to start with abstract problem framing and progressively translate into concrete design solutions within complex projects with many moving pieces
