Responsibilities
Lead all delivery drivers and regional driver supervisors across Baldor’s network (NYC, Northeast, and regional DCs)
Establish clear expectations for driver performance, attendance, safety, professionalism, and customer interaction
Coach, develop, and hold regional supervisors accountable for daily execution and driver engagement
Build a strong leadership bench through training, succession planning, and performance management
Own last-mile delivery performance including:
On-time delivery %
Route completion
Missed / late deliveries
Customer Delivery Service & Resolution of Complaints tied to delivery
Driver Productivity
Partner with Dispatch and Customer Service to proactively manage service issues and recovery plans
Ensure consistent operating standards across all regions and shifts
Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and all local/state regulations
Own driver safety programs including:
Preventable accident reduction
Injury prevention
Hours of Service compliance
Training and certification standards
Partner with Safety and Legal on incident investigations, claims management, and corrective actions
Drive improvements in:
Cost per stop
Cost per route
Overtime control
Absenteeism and turnover
Partner with Planning and Dispatch to optimize route structures, staffing levels, and start times
Support annual budgeting and ongoing forecast accuracy related to driver labor
Serve as the senior leader representing Baldor drivers across the organization
Champion a culture of respect, accountability, and pride in workmanship
Lead driver communication forums, recognition programs, and engagement initiatives
Partner with HR on recruiting, onboarding, disciplinary processes, and labor relations
Work closely with:
Dispatch on daily execution and capacity
Customer Service on service recovery and communication
Fleet & Maintenance on vehicle readiness
Planning & Analytics on performance visibility
Finance on labor productivity and cost management
Act as the operational bridge between strategic planning and field execution
Qualification
Required
15+ years leading large driver populations and front-line supervisors
Strong working knowledge of DOT / FMCSA regulations
Experience operating in dense urban environments (NYC strongly preferred)
Proven ability to lead through change and drive accountability at scale
Experience in food distribution or perishable goods
Multi-DC or regional network leadership
Data-driven operator comfortable with KPIs, dashboards, and performance reviews
20+ years of progressive experience in delivery operations, transportation, or last-mile logistics
Preferred
