Economic Development Coordinator

The City of Goodyear is committed to building and maintaining a highly engaged workforce, and they are seeking an Economic Development Coordinator to manage the City’s CRM database and support economic development programs. This role involves collaboration across departments, conducting research, and preparing reports to facilitate informed decision-making.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Leads CRM management for the department, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and completeness while developing training materials, providing staff training, and supporting system customization to meet evolving team and reporting needs
Oversees and synchronizes CRM data to support reporting, dashboards, pipeline tracking, and project monitoring, including routine data cleanup, structure maintenance, and quality control
Prepares, reviews, and presents reports on business development activity and performance metrics, including monthly development pipeline reports, performance measure updates, and public announcement tracking, to support decision-making and project advancement
Acts as the primary liaison among departments, partner agencies, developers, and community stakeholders, ensuring alignment, continuity, and smooth project progression across all phases
Engages internal and external partners to resolve complex issues, identify solutions, and advance initiatives while tracking project milestones and maintaining consistent processes and schedules
Builds and maintains relationships with public and private partners to leverage resources, strengthen collaboration, and support successful economic development outcomes
Collaborates with business representatives and the West Valley Regional Chamber of Commerce to coordinate business events including ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and grand openings, as well as respond to customer assistance requests related to active and prospective projects
Conducts research, compiles, and analyzes data; prepares related reports, summaries, and correspondence. Conducts statistical, analytical, and market research on economic and development issues, gathering information from a variety of sources including economic, demographic, population, and geographic databases
Provides targeted research and analytical support for business retention, expansion, and recruitment efforts
Prepares, designs, and delivers professional, high-quality presentations
Assists with the development, evaluation, and implementation of program goals, objectives, activities, and strategic initiatives, including assessment of outcomes and impacts
Organizes and coordinates roundtables, workshops, and other events to engage stakeholders, support programs, and advance economic development initiatives
Contributes written content for marketing materials, reports, correspondence, award nominations, and related documents
Supports a variety of special projects, as assigned, ensuring deadlines and deliverables are met
Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy across all work products, data systems, reports, and communications
Maintains professionalism and responsiveness through regular participation in internal meetings and ongoing coordination with internal and external stakeholders

Required

At least one year of experience in development or program management
Familiarity with the development process in either the public or private sector
Hands-on experience with CRM platforms such as Dynamics 365
Experience with electronic plan review systems like ProjectDox, Accela, or similar tools
Valid Driver's License
Broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field, normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
Minimum one years' experience in a related field
Ability to read general correspondence, technical reports, survey and analyze materials, and memorandums at a college level
Ability to perform general math calculations such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division and to conduct college-level algebraic and statistical calculations
Ability to write general correspondence, memorandums, letters, and reports at a college level
Occasional direction of helpers, assistants, seasonal employees, interns, or temporary employees
Supports the preparation of budget documents; may do research to justify data used in documents for a unit or division of a department
The employee normally performs the job by following established procedures and/or policies
Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization
Interactions at this level usually impact the implementation of policies

Preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build and work with pivot tables for data analysis and reporting
