Mechanical Engineer
Cellsense manufactures sustainable products for the fashion, jewelry, and beauty industries utilizing proprietary materials made from algae and cellulose. The role involves taking manufacturing systems from prototype to pilot plant and developing tools and processes to meet growing demand from brand partners.
Responsibilities
Design and iterate on hardware necessary for Cellsense to scale production
Build and optimize automated material deposition systems
Customize molds for diverse customer use cases
Source components and work with suppliers to manage parts and lead times
Work across disciplines to help develop exciting new products
Own and develop engineering at Cellsense
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field
3+ years of engineering experience, including taking projects from concept to completion
Hands-on experience designing, building, and troubleshooting physical systems
Proficiency in 3D CAD software of choice
Familiarity with prototyping methods such as machining, 3D printing, and laser cutting
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Self-motivated problem-solver who thrives in a startup environment
Preferred
Experience with manufacturing processes or automation is a strong plus
