Contract Specialist III

The Contract Specialist III will perform highly complex contract enrollment and administration tasks, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while providing technical assistance and managing contract activities for Medicaid waiver programs.

Health Care

Responsibilities

Acts as contract manager for Medicaid waiver program contracts
Serves as point of contact for applicants and contractors
Performs quality assurance activities, enrolling and updating contracts including processing new contract applications, adding contracts or making contract updates, and processing contract terminations
Prepares routine and special correspondence/reports according to designated procedures
Maintains automated databases and tracking systems to plan, track and complete required contract activities
Represents CCPM in committees, workgroups and meetings to address significant issues related to development of policies and rules for contract administration
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

Certified Texas Contract Manager (CTCM) certification must be obtained within one (1) year of employment, if not already certified, unless otherwise approved by Supervisor
Knowledge of contracts, social services, or Medicaid waiver programs
Knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and policies
Knowledge of the contract enrollment and administration process
Skill using computers and database tracking systems
Skill providing customer service involving high volume phone calls and emails
Ability to manage special projects with limited supervision
Ability to train and direct the work of others
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
Ability to gather, assemble, correlate, and analyze facts
Ability to develop and write concise reports and explain data
Ability to devise solutions to problems
Ability to develop and evaluate policies and procedures
Ability to evaluate contracts and recommend future status; and to interpret policies, procedures, and regulations

Preferred

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree is preferred
At least one year of contract administration/management experience that may include developing, evaluating or monitoring
