Responsibilities

Interpret and analyze engineering designs, blueprints, and specifications to ensure feasibility and compliance with project requirements
Collaborate closely with project managers, designers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and smooth project execution
Provide on‑site technical expertise and resources during construction phases, addressing any design modifications or adjustments required to meet site conditions
Oversee construction supervision activities, ensuring that work is carried out according to approved plans, procedures, and specifications
Provide technical support to the field for interpretation of drawings, specifications, procedures, and vendor instructions
Support Heavy Haul and Heavy Lift activities, working with management and the client to develop transport and set planning using tools such as PowerPoint, Blue Beam, and Navisworks
Ensure operations comply with the Heavy Haul and Heavy Lift Crane & Rigging Manual and all applicable standards
Work with all areas and craft disciplines to develop proper sequencing for major equipment installation across the project
Support Logistics teams in developing and implementing traffic management plans
Oversee surveying activities to confirm layout accuracy and conformance with design
Prepare scope of work documents for subcontracts and provide ongoing technical support during execution of subcontracted work
Perform technical scope reviews for field change orders and recommend appropriate actions
Review daily functions of the document control process and ensure proper reproduction, distribution, and storage of all engineering and construction documents
Identify and initiate Requests for Information (RFIs) and field change notices as required
Make independent technical decisions for small projects and studies, considering financial, social, and environmental impacts
Conduct inspections and quality checks of completed construction tasks to ensure alignment with design specifications and quality standards
Participate in regular project meetings to provide updates on construction progress, address technical issues, and offer solutions
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure efficient coordination of construction activities, resource allocation, and timely project completion
Maintain accurate documentation of construction activities, including progress reports, change orders, and as‑built drawings
Identify potential risks or issues that could impact project timelines or deliverables and recommend corrective actions
Participate in the continuous improvement of construction processes, procedures, and standards
Support junior team members by sharing knowledge, offering guidance, and promoting professional development

Required

University Degree in a related field, or equivalent trade qualification combined with relevant training and experience
Proven experience in a Field Engineer or similar role, preferably within the I&E (Instrumentation and Electrical) or Mechanical discipline
Strong understanding of construction principles, techniques, and industry best practices
Proficiency in interpreting engineering designs, blueprints, and technical specifications
Demonstrated experience supporting heavy haul, heavy lift, and rigging operations
Excellent problem‑solving skills with the ability to make independent technical decisions
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively liaise with diverse stakeholders
Knowledge of safety regulations, codes, and standards applicable to construction projects
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate across multiple disciplines
Detail‑oriented with a strong focus on quality and accuracy of work
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast‑paced environment
Willingness to travel to construction sites as required

Preferred

Familiarity with project management and design software tools is an advantage
