The Housing Authority of the County of Santa Cruz is seeking an experienced and collaborative professional to serve as their Property Management Assistant Director. In this leadership role, you will oversee the daily operations of the Property Management Department, ensuring high-quality management of affordable housing and compliance with regulations.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Manage and oversee daily property management operations, including leasing, maintenance, inspections, and rehabilitation
Supervise, mentor, and support property management and maintenance staff
Oversee tenant relations, rent collection, lease enforcement, and unit turnover
Coordinate preventative, routine, and emergency maintenance and vendor services
Monitor budgets, contracts, expenditures, and contractor performance
Ensure compliance with HUD and other regulatory requirements
Support capital planning, bidding, and project oversight
Maintain accurate property, tenant, and program records
Collaborate with internal departments, contractors, and external agencies

Qualification

Required

Minimum 5 years of management experience in affordable housing property management or a related field, plus 2 years of administrative or leadership experience
Bachelor's degree in business or public administration, real estate, construction technology, planning, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Strong knowledge of affordable housing regulations, property operations, and landlord-tenant law
Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred

Possession of Real Estate or Brokers license
Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus
