Security Operations Intern - Summer 2026

The Children's Museum of Indianapolis is dedicated to fostering an inclusive environment and is seeking a Security Operations Intern to assist with the daily security operations. This role involves contributing to operational improvements, updating documentation, and supporting event and school group procedures while gaining valuable experience in security operations within a public-facing organization.

Responsibilities

Assist with a room numbering project throughout the Museum
Update emergency exit and severe weather signage around the building
Assist with reviewing and updating Security Standard Operating Procedures
Support the Safety Warden Program
Assist with school group arrival and departure procedures
Support security operations related to Museum events as needed

Required

Sophomore, junior, or senior at the college level, majoring in Security, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security/Public Safety
Strong communication skills
Basic computer and software skills
Must be able to walk, stand, and move throughout the Museum campus for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to read and update signage and written documentation, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to communicate effectively with staff, visitors, and external partners, with or without reasonable accommodation
Must be able to use standard office and computer equipment, with or without reasonable accommodation

Preferred

Experience working with children
Previous security-related experience not required
