Electrical Controls Engineer

Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG) offers a comprehensive line of large industrial processing equipment. They are seeking an Electrical Controls Engineer responsible for the development, testing, and documentation of automation and PLC/HMI control systems, as well as factory testing and commissioning of products.

Responsibilities

Read and interpret internal, and customers’ provided electrical specifications and sales literature
Design drawing packages and architecture for provided electrical or PLC/HMI control systems
Ensure compliance with applicable design codes (NEC/CEC/CE/IEC w/ Occasional Others)
Design PLC software control and HMI visualization for a variety of equipment types
Occasional shop testing of electrical systems. Critical safety focus and use of PPE required
Occasional field commissioning or testing of final products at customer facilities
Possess knowledge of instrumentation, signals, and their applications
Familiar with a variety of electrical terminology, practices, and procedures
Provide required support during fabrication of design and during NRTL inspection
Assist project engineers with technical concerns as required
Ability to multitask between 5-7 projects simultaneously – appropriate clerical organization is critical
