Responsibilities

Prepare and analyze samples according to written standard protocols; Assist with instrument maintenance and quality control procedures
Operate equipment carefully and according to procedures; Help maintain commonly used equipment and resolve minor equipment problems
Assure equipment and instruments meet performance standards
Assure the accuracy of all tests performed by adhering to the laboratory’s Quality Control Standard Operating Procedures
Perform and maintain competency in the technical and related work of the laboratory
Reviews workload and workflow and makes recommendations on procedures to improve efficiency and to respond to changes
Updates procedures when appropriate and assists in writing new technical procedures. Makes recommendations for updating procedure manuals
Compiles data and writes validation, as required

Qualification

NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist LicenseBachelor's degree in Medical TechnologyASCP certificationQuality Control proceduresSample preparationAnalysisEquipment maintenanceData compilation

Required

Bachelor's degree (Medical Technology, Biology, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences) required
2+ years of experience required
NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist License Required
