Responsibilities

Manages day-to-day laboratory operations while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and best practices
Works with, adapts, and installs scientific equipment in research laboratories
Collaborates on routine projects and procedures
Manages inventory and equipment and performs budget functions
Performing histology and immunohistochemistry
Growing primary cell cultures
Maintaining mouse colonies and performing genotyping
Keeping track of inventory, ordering and purchasing supplies
Organize the equipment and wet lab space devoted to these projects
Provide experimental assistance and scientific advice to lab members
Maintain accurate records of histological sections, cell lines and antibodies
Identify/troubleshoot technical problems, optimize protocols, and maintain daily miscellaneous tasks in the lab
Responsible for all safety, compliance of regulations for laboratory safety and animal protocols

Required

Bachelor's Degree
2 years of experience
Extensive experience with various laboratory techniques
Ability to manage experimental work
Ability to manage day-to-day operations of the laboratory
Organize the equipment and wet lab space devoted to projects
Provide experimental assistance and scientific advice to lab members
Maintain accurate records of histological sections, cell lines and antibodies
Identify/troubleshoot technical problems
Optimize protocols
Maintain daily miscellaneous tasks in the lab
Responsible for all safety, compliance of regulations for laboratory safety and animal protocols
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision from the principal investigator
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiar with OneDrive and cloud-based shared spreadsheet platforms
Ability to speak clearly for telephone contact
Manual dexterity to use equipment
Ability to visit various locations throughout the campus
Generally sedentary, however, this position does require incumbent to move within lab and occasionally visit industry or other locations throughout the campus
May occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
