Responsibilities

Design trailers using SolidWorks and DraftSight
Use 3D models and CAM software to create tool paths for CNC machines
Use analytical methods to determine the best design approach for piece parts and assemblies
Participate in and support efforts in the reengineering of existing designs
Collaborate with assemblers and fabrication operators to ensure design intent
Develop project/design documents (e.g., calculations, reports, specifications, and work instructions) according to standards
Manage and facilitate engineering projects from beginning to end
Estimate production cost and effect of product design changes for management review, action, and control
Research materials, quantities, and specifications for defined projects
Drive consistency in the use of engineering tools and processes
Other duties as assigned by Engineering Manager

Required

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field required
Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening is required
Random drug testing required after employment
Knowledge of processes and manufacturing equipment, including fabrication, machining, CNC, sheet metal forming, welding of aluminum and steel, and assembly
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Proficient with SolidWorks
Programming knowledge (MATLAB, VBA, SQL, Python, etc.)
Understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Design for Manufacturability (DFM)
Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to systematically resolve complex issues
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Ability to act with integrity and professionalism
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Reliable, with a strong work ethic and desire to contribute
Willing to work 40+ hours weekly on-site

Preferred

1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
