Responsibilities

Provides technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data, such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes
Produces engineering documentation, reports, drawings (flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics)
Performs detailed mathematical calculations using established formulas; preliminary analyses of data where guidelines are provided in such areas as trajectory adequacy, model dimensional consistency; and quantitative judgments concerning technical data
Uses personal computer in performance of analyses and development of documentation/reports
May conduct tests and record data to assist with engineering evaluation or analysis

Required

Engineering Technician 2 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 1 year of related experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 3 years related (DoD/USN) experience
Engineering Technician 3 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 3 years experience; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years related (DoD/USN) experience
Engineering Technician 4 - Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience
Candidates must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Security Clearance at the required level to perform sensitive mission-critical tasks
Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen

Preferred

Shipyard or US Navy A4W propulsion and/or reactor plant construction, operation, and/or maintenance experience
Working knowledge of shipyard work controls processes to include proficiency with Electronic Shift Operating Management System (eSOMS)
Active Confidential DOD Security Clearance
Candidates possess a strong background in shipboard electrical or mechanical systems, heavy industrial manufacturing, or shipbuilding and testing
Candidates who have prior service in the U.S. Navy, with a focus on technical ratings or operations that align with nuclear or maritime engineering standards
