Responsibilities

Lead the design and architecture of highly available, scalable, and secure cloud solutions across various cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) to meet GE Healthcare's evolving business needs
Develop and evangelize cloud architecture standards, patterns, and best practices, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and security policies
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams, guiding them in the implementation of cloud-native solutions, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles
Evaluate new cloud technologies, services, and tools, making recommendations for their adoption to improve performance, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence
Collaborate with product management, security, operations, and development teams to translate business requirements into robust and innovative cloud architectures
Oversee the performance, cost optimization, and security posture of cloud environments, proactively identifying and addressing potential issues
Drive the migration of on-premise applications and data to cloud platforms, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum benefit
Establish and enforce governance frameworks for cloud resource provisioning, access management, and cost control
Document architectural designs, technical specifications, and operational procedures for cloud solutions

Required

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
8+ years of progressive experience in IT with at least 5 years dedicated to cloud architecture and engineering roles
Extensive hands-on experience designing and implementing complex solutions on at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with strong proficiency in another
Deep understanding of cloud computing concepts, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, serverless architectures, microservices, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and data storage solutions
Proven expertise in infrastructure-as-code (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, Azure Resource Manager) and CI/CD pipelines
Strong knowledge of networking principles, security best practices, and compliance requirements in cloud environments
Experience with hybrid cloud deployments and strategies
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams without direct authority

Preferred

Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related STEM field
11+ years of software engineering experience, including 8+ years in cloud architecture roles
7+ years experience in regulated healthcare and/or medical device software development
AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional (or equivalent)
Experience delivering Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) solutions and working within medical device quality systems
Working knowledge of healthcare/medical device Quality Management Systems and associated documentation practices
Familiarity with clinical workflows, Enterprise Imaging workflows, and data stewardship expectations in healthcare environments
Experience with multi-cloud (Azure/GCP) is a plus, particularly in hybrid-cloud deployment models
