Supervisor of Fabrication
CHL Systems, Inc. is a family-owned company with over 65 years of manufacturing excellence, seeking a Supervisor of Fabrication to oversee daily operations in the material fabrication department. The role involves leading a team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality production of stainless-steel components while driving process improvements and maintaining production schedules.

Responsibilities
Lead and supervise daily fabrication operations, including raw material processing, shear cutting, and press brake forming
Plan, schedule, and assign work based on production requirements, available manpower, and deadlines
Interpret blueprints, work orders, and engineering drawings to determine materials, tooling, and sequence of operations
Monitor production efficiency, labor utilization, and quality metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure strict compliance with safety policies and procedures, conduct regular inspections and promote a proactive safety culture
Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Project Management, Quality, and Production teams to resolve issues, improve manufacturability, and meet customer requirements
Maintain accurate production, inventory, and labor records using ERP systems
Support preventive maintenance and basic troubleshooting of fabrication equipment
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required; technical, trade school, or associate degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of hands-on fabrication or metal manufacturing experience, with 2+ years in a supervisory or team lead role
Proven background in sheet metal fabrication, press break forming, and raw material processing
Demonstrated success improving productivity, quality, and safety performance on the production floor
Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and engineering documents
Strong working knowledge of fabrication processes (cutting, forming, shearing, deburring, and material handling)
Skilled in basic computer applications (MS Office, ERP/MRP systems for scheduling, labor tracking, and inventory)
Knowledge of industrial safety standards including Lockout/Tagout, crane operation, and forklift safety
Preferred
Additional coursework or certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Industrial Safety, or Quality Systems a plus
Experience in a custom manufacturing or job-shop environment preferred, especially in stainless steel component or conveyor system production
Familiarity with ISO 9001, 5S, and Lean/Continuous Improvement practices
