Administrative Support Assistant 2
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is seeking an Administrative Support Assistant 2 to join their team. This role involves providing essential clerical and customer service support in the Polk County office, ensuring smooth office operations and assisting both customers and staff.

Responsibilities
Keep our office running smoothly by coordinating operations and managing supplies
Provide friendly, professional assistance to customers and staff—both in person and over the phone
Handle important documents: scanning, indexing, uploading, and distributing mail and correspondence
Support team members with administrative tasks and step in as backup when needed
Stay informed on policies and procedures through training and meetings
Qualification
Required
One year of full-time work experience in general office, clerical, data entry/processing, or related work
A total of one year of education and/or full-time experience (as described in number one), where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience
Current, continuous experience in the state executive branch that includes six months of full-time work as an Administrative Support Assistant 1
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and navigating Windows
Dependable attendance and commitment to confidentiality
Occasional travel to assist other offices
Employees in this class may be required to type at least 40 WPM net as demonstrated by the completion of a typing examination
