Responsibilities
Determine policy, develop programs and formulate social services operational objectives within local, state and federal legal requirements, County ordinances, policies, and procedural guidelines
Administer one or more departmental programs, its activities and staff
Develop and oversee critical department functions, social services programs, policies, procedures, legislative changes, automated systems and staff consistent with regulatory standards and departmental goals and objectives
Act on the behalf of the Director in the latter's absence
Qualification
Required
Possession of a bachelor's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system
Four (4) years of full-time, paid management work experience in a social services setting, which included the supervision of professional staff
Possession of a valid Class 'C' driver's license, or equivalent, may be required
As a condition of employment, candidates are required to undergo and pass a background investigation
Preferred
Experience in an Adult Services program is preferred, such as In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS), Adult Protective Services (APS), Public Authority, or related fields
Possession of a master's degree that is acceptable within the United States' accredited college or university system may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience
