Responsibilities
Performs design Verification (checking) and calculations to validate design requirements
Will require Project leadership for the management of designs requiring tracking assignments, percent complete and drawing release schedules for specific design release packages
Create, check and maintain design product definition (Models & Drawings) for engineering designs. This includes, but is not limited to, preparation of design layouts and/or preliminary conceptual design layouts, as well as outsourced design project leadership
Provide technical guidance to less senior designers and to design support personnel. Provides data in support of Verification Metrics for design
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior design experience
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior design experience
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior design experience
Preferred
10 years of experience with CAD systems (Creo 10 preferred) along with experience using CAD database management and PLM tools (Windchill preferred)
Knowledge of Mechanical and Electrical harnessing and packaging of Aerospace hardware required
Expert knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (ASME Y14.5). ASME Certification in GD&T is a plus
Ability to read and interpret product definition and related specifications
Electronic markup tools and the ability to work paperless is required
Security Clearance preferred
Knowledge of liquid and solid propulsion systems design and manufacturing methods is a plus
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
