Facilities Project Manager

Wake County is seeking a Facilities Project Manager to manage all phases of capital projects including public safety facilities and libraries. The role involves project management, fiscal oversight, and coordination with various stakeholders to ensure successful project completion.

Responsibilities

Provide turnkey project management including planning, fiscal oversight, team coordination, design supervision, and construction administration for multiple design and construction projects
Prepare project schedules and complex capital project budgets
Monitor schedules and expenditures to assure compliance with the Capital Improvement Program
Do a great job so the public can enjoy the use of our awesome amenities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Landscape Architecture or Construction Management
Three years of experience in facilities project management, and/or architectural, engineering or site design
Valid Driver's License and 'safe' driving record
Equivalent education and experience are accepted
Please include ALL prior work experience on your application and resume
Knowledge of planning and design of new building construction and renovations for a wide variety of project types
Ability to successfully develop and manage complex capital projects that comply with the county's Capital Improvement Program
Ability to identify problems, determine possible solutions and actively work to resolve issues with sound judgement
Ability to work with others, reach consensus and make decisions
Ability to communicate at all levels with Commissioners, professional staff, design consultants, the community, and construction contractors
Ability to be patient and provide clear thinking in times of high stress
Proven record of managing projects through successful completion
Knowledge of jobsite and safety requirements specific to construction industry and OSHA standards

Preferred

Eight years of experience in managing all phases of design and construction of capital projects
Licensed professional preferred in Architecture, Engineering or General Contracting
