Responsibilities
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of secondary treatment plant & associated equipment on mill site
Maintains compliance with ISO Quality Systems responsibilities
Assist in the training of secondary & primary operators, & writing operating procedures
Manage sludge landspreading: preparation sites, marking setbacks, sludge deliveries, plowing, planting, snowplowing, farm leases, etc
Coordinate maintenance work on secondary facilities, and help troubleshoot problems
Responsible to assure that all required tests are being performed and documented correctly
Perform quality assurance work as required
Keep records as required
Assist the E H & S Manager in the planning, implementation and completion of various environmental projects
Qualification
Required
4-Year Degree in Biology, Chemistry, Pulp & Paper Science, Forestry or equivalent work experience, plus courses on Waste treatment plant operation
Two (2) to Four (4) years in treatment plant & pulp & paper mills
Licensed Treatment Plant Operator – Required
Laboratory Tests
Communication Skills
Public Relations with people outside of the company
One (1) to Six (6) months training, depending on experience
