Responsibilities

Support fleet reliability improvements by participating in reliability review investigations and developing innovative solutions in a team environment. Communicate fleet initiatives with our internal partners and executive leaders
Monitor the fleet through various tools and reports. Identify fleet improvement opportunities and coordinate with various Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) on potential improvements
Perform station visit to solicit feedback from the front line. Provide aircraft engineering support to a variety of internal customers and outside suppliers to support daily operations and long-term reliability/cost effectiveness. Responsible for operational reliability on the B717, B737, B757, and B767 fleets at Delta
Independently remove small roadblocks and assist team or leadership with removing larger obstacles
Review large amounts of data, identify which data is relevant to the needs of the company, and reduce the information to present to divisional leadership to help drive decisions. Promote process, technology, and business solutions that assist in implementing change while reducing any adverse effects
Telecommuting permitted 1 day per week
10% Domestic and international travel required

Required

Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field, and three years of experience in aircraft mechanical/operational reliability. In the alternative, will accept five years of experience in aircraft mechanical/operational reliability
Understanding key aircraft ATA Chapters including ATA 21 – Air Conditioning on the Boeing 717 fleet, ATA 27 – Flight Controls on the Boeing 737 fleet, ATA 29 – Hydraulics on the Boeing 757 fleet, ATA 36 – Pneumatics on the Boeing 737 fleet, and ATA 38 – Water/Waste on the Boeing 767 fleet
Using and building tools in Palantir Foundry or Airbus Skywise platforms to run data analysis by combining various data sources as they relate to aircraft discrepancies
Understanding and familiarity with airline flight operations and support systems, 14 CFR Part 25 – Transport Category Airplanes, 14 CFR Part 121 – Operating Requirements, and 14 CFR Part 145 – Repair Stations regulations
Interaction with aircraft and component original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) through regular meeting attendance, leading presentations, and participating in industry conferences
Using and developing tools in Smartsheet for employee workload management
