Responsibilities
Learns and gains experience in multiple areas of human resources administration and applicable statutes and regulations
Prepares and processes personnel and payroll actions for the KY Division of Emergency Management (KYEM)
Makes recommendations regarding routine actions and seeks guidance from immediate supervisor for more complicated or complex actions relating to EEO, ADA, FMLA and corrective and disciplinary actions
Advises and communicates with employees and applicants concerning employment procedures
Ensures DMA interview board policy is followed accurately
Arranges interviews and prepares interview packets for KYEM
Prepares and submits KYEM job vacancy announcements internally and online
Keeps abreast of all personnel regulations, statutes, policies and procedures
Ensures timesheets are accurate within KYEM
Notifies KYEM employees and management as well as immediate supervisor of any issues relating to time entry errors, submissions and approvals for KYEM
Serves as KYEM liaison for performance evaluations
Communicates with KYEM employees, supervisors and management as well as immediate supervisor of any issues relating to performance evaluations
Qualification
Required
Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree
One year of professional experience in personnel administration, business administration or management
Administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis
Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year for year basis
