Responsibilities
Program, set up, and optimize CNC programs for 5-axis machining centers and CNC lathes with live tooling
Develop efficient machining strategies for complex, tight-tolerance components
Create and modify programs using Mastercam and on-machine controls
Select tooling, fixturing, and workholding solutions to maximize productivity and quality
Prove out new programs on the shop floor and support first-article runs
Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and programming issues during production
Optimize cycle times, tool life, and machining processes
Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and production teams to ensure manufacturability
Maintain accurate documentation, setup sheets, and revision control
Support continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing efforts
Qualification
Required
Minimum 8 years of CNC programming experience
Strong experience with 5-axis milling machines
Strong experience with CNC lathes with live tooling (mill/turn)
Proficient in Mastercam
Strong understanding of G-code and M-code
Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and GD&T
Experience machining tight-tolerance and complex geometry parts
Solid knowledge of cutting tools, materials, feeds, and speeds
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Experience with nickel alloys and other exotic materials a plus
Mastercam Programming: 8 years (Required)
Ability to Commute: Austin, TX 78737 (Required)
