Principal Solution Engineer

Responsibilities
Own the development and implementation of complex products/applications/solutions for Dell. Own their reference architectures
Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to staff and the partners specifically Dell through sales presentations and product demonstrations
Assists the channel sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and may prepare detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer products/applications/solutions
Create detailed design and implementation specifications for complex products/applications/solutions. While also mapping Dell’s requirements to current and future offerings
Potential to build a mini-application based on Dell’s requirements to demonstrate feasibility of the application, often requiring rapid prototyping and/or product demo for client
Provide consultation to prospective Dell users and/or product capability assessment and validation
Own the technical sales process for Dell from introductory meetings (net new sales) through post-sales (partner satisfaction, upselling, and subscription renewals) educate prospects on the business value of Cloudera’s offerings
Qualification
Required
Experience seeing the entire lifecycle from conception to design to technology evaluation to pilot program to implementation to maintenance and support
Ability to switch context quickly throughout the day with numerous competing demands
Minimum 5 years experience and success working in a customer-facing role hands-on, technical, problem solver personality
A passion for using technology to make a difference to people and organisations. We'll supply some amazing tools to help you with this and you'll provide the connection to use cases, which make it real for your customers
A minimum of 15 years experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a pre-sales context
The ability to create and give technical presentations and demonstrations
Experience with some of the following technologies: Big Data, Data Warehousing or Relational Databases, Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning, Operations, Security and Data Governance within the enterprise, Unix or Linux
Experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication
Problem solving skills
A willingness to learn, a curiosity to discover and a drive to make your customers successful
Four year degree (Bachelor's) from accredited university required
Ability to travel domestically and internationally
Preferred
Formal certification in one or more of the three major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure or GCP) is a great thing to have
