Responsibilities
Serves as IT project manager for assigned projects. For non-IT-driven projects, the role will serve as project manager for IT-assigned deliverables
Manages assigned IT projects and coordinates with all stakeholders from inception to completion to achieve the desired outcome
Works with the project team to identify and document project scope/charter, budget (where applicable), resources, project schedules including milestones and risks, and project deliverables
Establishes meeting cadence for each project to ensure projects remain on budget and on schedule
Maintains project team accountability through tracking budget, milestones, risk mitigation actions, issues, and task assignments. Escalates issues promptly to applicable stakeholder(s)
Collaborates with others to establish project meeting agendas and produces project team meeting notes, including providing project status updates and reports to stakeholders
Closes out each project in a timely and orderly manner, with documentation of lessons learned and finalization of essential project documentation
Maintains accurate master IT project list
Produces required IT project-related presentation and supplemental materials for meetings, including steering committee and strategic planning meetings
Work with IT Management and Project Management Office to develop, document, and codify the project planning, implementation, and management methodology for adoption by the agency
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree in business management, public administration, information technology, or other related field of study
PMP Certification
5+ years of project management experience
3+ years of project management experience managing enterprise-level IT projects
1+ year of experience with ServiceNow
3+ years of experience with budgeting
Strong verbal communication and written skills with the ability to compose clear, concise reports, documents, and correspondence
Thorough understanding of information technology concepts, terminology, and standards
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to effectively plan and organize work activities and prioritize task completion according to schedules and goals
Ability to lead and influence
Ability to understand and clearly communicate complex projects
Considerable diplomacy and tact exhibited in stressful situations
Employee must develop and maintain knowledge of agency mission, goals, and objectives
Preferred
Experience managing system modernization initiatives
Experience working with state agencies
Experience collaborating with external vendors
