Responsibilities
Analyze CPU/APU/GPU PCBs from notebooks, desktop motherboards, and GPU cards
Identify electrical components and reverse-engineer board topology, architecture, power trees, and key interfaces
Partner with component engineers to build estimated BOMs and resolve unclear component attributes
Use internal cost databases to estimate board cost and compare against internal and customer designs
Work with PCB delamination vendors to analyze stack-ups and dielectric materials
Evaluate vias, pad stacks, trace geometries, and competitor chip ball-outs for high-speed interfaces
Perform power measurements using standardized benchmarks
Measure input and output power across multiple ASIC rails to evaluate efficiency
Generate detailed reports highlighting cost drivers and design trade-offs
Provide recommendations to influence future competitive platform architectures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
3–5 years of experience in platform hardware design or analysis
Strong knowledge of high-speed interfaces: LPDDR, GDDR, PCIe, USB, DP, eDP, HDMI, SPI, eSPI
Experience with complex PCB and system assemblies, including FFC and custom cabling
Understanding of BOM cost optimization while maintaining performance and reliability
Experience collaborating with silicon vendors and component suppliers
Preferred
Background in competitive BOM analysis
Experience benchmarking power, efficiency, and performance across platforms
