Engineering Technician I (Non-Travel)

Responsibilities
NAVAID antenna and component repair and overhaul
Rotary joint and drive motor troubleshooting and repair
Circuit board testing and repair
Production and repair of electronic cables and wire harnesses. Performing equipment performance analyses, and information collection and reporting
Performing equipment adjustment, testing, and certification
Installation of equipment and components, and modifications
Installation and maintenance of NAS Radomes
Use appropriate tools to disassemble and reassemble mechanical/electro-mechanical parts, including but not limited to drive motors, gearboxes, antenna pedestals, electric blowers, and air compressors
Familiarity with electric, pneumatic, and common hand tools
Attention to detail and accuracy when completing data entries for asset maintenance
Take notes and write reports describing work performed on serialized assets
Assist in moving large assets around shop for support shop work and for testing purposes
Ability to read and follow along to work aids and technical manuals to repair and overhaul mechanical assets
Ability to use a computer, basic computer tools such as MS word/excel, internet explorer, and other government inventory and time keeping programs
Qualification
Required
Minimum High School Diploma/GED with completion of formal technical training courses
Knowledge is required in: assisting in producing, reviewing, revising, and interpreting technical documents; assisting in designing, fabricating, assembling, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems, subsystems, components, test fixtures, and prototypes; developing and performing equipment and component adjustment, test, and certification processes; and in installing equipment and modifications
Demonstrated experience using appropriate tools to disassemble and reassemble mechanical/electro-mechanical parts, including but not limited to drive motors, gearboxes, antenna pedestals, electric blowers, and air compressors
Working knowledge of electric, pneumatic, and common hand tools
Proven attention to detail and accuracy when completing data entries for asset maintenance
Ability to take notes and write reports describing work performed on serialized assets
Experience assisting in moving large assets around the shop for support shop work and for testing purposes
Ability to read and follow work aids and technical manuals to repair and overhaul mechanical assets

Due to safety and operational requirements mandated by our government customer, all engineering technicians are required to successfully complete a physical fitness evaluation
NACI Clearance - ability to obtain Public Trust
A valid driver's license is required
Must possess TWO forms of unexpired identification to meet eligibility requirements
One Primary form of government-issued identification, selected from the following: Valid REAL ID-compliant driver's license or state-issued ID card, U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) Transportation ID Card, U.S. Passport or U.S. Passport Card, Permanent Resident Card (Form I-551), U.S. Military or U.S. Military dependent's ID Card with photograph, U.S. Government Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Card
One secondary form of identification, such as: Social security card, Original or certified copy of a birth certificate, Certificate of U.S. Citizenship or Naturalization, Voter registration card
Preferred
Specialized knowledge of FAA systems, equipment, procedures, and operations is highly desired
Installation of electronic and mechanical systems and components
Experience with: Operation of boom man lifts, Operation of pallet Jacks, Operation of motorized forklift
