The Hollow Fan Blade Operator will perform part preparation, processing, and finishing operations to fabricate production and development Hollow Fan Blades, working closely with process engineers to ensure quality and efficiency in production.

Responsibilities

Plan and perform a variety of part preparation, processing and finishing operations to fabricate production and development Hollow Fan Blades and related details where production processing is under development for new or changed configurations. Work with process engineers to tryout schedules, tools and equipment and perform a variety of related operations throughout the product area
Plan and perform complicated preparation, hot bonding, forming and post processing work as required to fabricate fan blade assemblies
Set up equipment and schedules, conduct calibration and servicing routines and process and monitor part processing to assure consistent results within engineering specifications
Work with process engineers to modify tooling and process parameters to develop new and changed parts and methods of fabrication
Tryout new and changed control programs and edit schedules and programs to improve accuracy and process time and assist others responsible for new part and tooling development as assigned
Work with technical support groups to plan or alter the method of work, layout or setup for new or changed parts and processes
Perform dimensional checks to make sure part meets quality requirements and investigate malfunctions to identify processing variations through computerized records and manual data entries

Qualification

Manufacturing experienceAdvanced Manufacturing CertificationHigh School Diploma

Required

High School Diploma / GED
Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification

Preferred

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations)
