Responsibilities

Perform on-site installation, repair, maintenance, qualification, and verification of clinical and discrete chemistry analyzers in accordance with instrument/product manufacturers specifications
Provide effective, timely communication and negotiation scheduling with the customer, partner
Ensure effective and timely service and appropriate documentation is recorded through required processes
Knowledgeable of safe operations and maintenance of the analyzers
Maximize analyzer uptime and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
Must be proficient with the use of customer management software to track service calls, manage parts inventories, and complete job tasks
Collaborate with Sr. Engineer or Manager, Field Service to analyze, review and inspect findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action
Collaborate with Sr. Engineer or Manager, Field Service in problem resolution with factory engineering, technical support, and other personnel to expedite repairs
Assist with on boarding of new hires
Shows ability to coach/mentor other Field Service Engineers
Opportunity to be trained as a trainer on one or more instruments
Other duties as assigned

Required

Minimum of an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Instrumentation, military experience in a technical field or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience to perform at this level
Minimum 3+ years' experience as a Field Service Engineer
Effective communication skills and establishing good customer rapport are essential
Proven ability to prioritize service requests and produce clear and concise documentation
Must have ability to work independently and have good organizational, communication and time management skills
Computer proficient
Must be available to travel overnight up to 85% within the territory or other areas as required
Ability to safely lift 50 lbs with assistance on occasion
Ability to safely lift and carry 25-30 lbs continuously throughout the day
Ability to bend, squat, stretch, and reach daily in a service function
Maintain a valid driver's license and safe driving record
Regular and reliable attendance
