Responsibilities

Support execution of an early-phase Product Handling / Packaging project
Own and lead the project bid process, including RFP development, vendor leveling, and selection
Author and maintain the Project Execution Plan (PEP) and site-specific execution manuals
Proven experience enforcing contract terms, managing cost and schedule recovery, and ensuring compliance with Scopes of Work (SOW)
Expertise in Change Order management, including technical/cost validation and negotiation
Manage the Project Dashboard, performing root-cause analysis on schedule variances (SPI < 1.0) and cost overruns (CPI < 1.0)
Develop recovery schedules and mitigation plans when project indicators trend off-plan
Maintain a strong onsite presence to coordinate daily construction, installation, and commissioning activities
Interface with Construction Management, engineering, contractors, vendors, and client stakeholders
Track daily field progress and communicate status, risks, and constraints to the Client Project Manager
Assist with coordination between Moses Lake and Alameda project activities
Lead the end-to-back bid process; coordinate with procurement to vet contractors, evaluate technical bids, and finalize commercial terms
Track project schedule milestones, near-term lookaheads, and execution progress
Support cost awareness, budget tracking, and billing-related inputs
Monitor and report schedule and cost performance metrics, including CPI and SPI
Assist with forecasting, variance analysis, and early identification of execution impacts
Provide daily and weekly progress reporting to the Client Project Manager
Support documentation, action item tracking, and follow-ups
Lead the Change Management workflow, ensuring no unauthorized work is performed without an approved Change Variance Request and validated cost-impact analysis
Assist with identifying, tracking, and communicating project risks and mitigation strategies
Support change management processes and coordination with engineering and construction teams
Maintain awareness of scope changes and impacts to cost and schedule
Serve as the primary point of contact for contractor commercial issues; interpret contract language to resolve disputes and manage claims
Coordinate with the project controls team to get internal estimates and schedules for project tracking and comparisons to Change Variance Requests
Work directly with the Client Project Manager and assigned Project Engineer
Coordinate closely with the onsite Construction Manager, who will remain embedded with the project
Support communication between engineering, construction, vendors, and client leadership
Participate in project meetings, execution reviews, and performance discussions
Generate high-level executive summaries that translate complex field data into actionable insights for the Client PM and stakeholders

Required

5–7 years of experience in project management, construction management, or project execution roles
Strong understanding of field execution and day-to-day construction/project activities
Experience supporting industrial, manufacturing, or process-based projects (packaging, material handling, or similar systems preferred)
Working knowledge of cost and schedule performance management, including CPI and SPI
Experience with budget tracking, forecasting, and cost control
Exposure to contract administration, change management, and risk management
Strong communication and organizational skills
Comfortable providing frequent, clear progress updates to senior project leadership
Ability to work onsite the majority of the time in a fast-paced project environment

Preferred

Experience managing QA/QC programs on construction projects
Experience with packaging systems, material handling, or production support units
Exposure to early-phase project development and project ramp-up
Experience working alongside engineers and construction managers in an owner-side or EPC environment
Familiarity with Oracle Primavera Cloud, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling tools
Familiarity with Asana, Autodesk Construction Cloud, and Google Suite

Benefits

Per diem: $1,246 per week
Travel reimbursed as pass-through cost
Overtime paid at time and a half for hours over 40/week
