The Manufacturing Controls Engineer will be responsible for upgrading and supporting manufacturing control systems, designing technical solutions, and collaborating on Agile teams to manage data science models.

Responsibilities
Proactively upgrade and support new and legacy manufacturing/assembly control systems, including electrical circuits and microcontrollers
Define and verify controls requirements on new, existing, and retrofit equipment
Document and archive accurate drawings and specifications
Design technical solutions in the areas of machine controls, machine learning, poke yoke development, process automation, advanced tooling, quality engineering, ergonomics, and safety
Program, test, and troubleshoot mechanical/electrical systems and controls (Siemens - Step 7, Allen Bradley - Ladder Logic). Diagnose problems, replace, or repair parts, test and adjust
Support system integration for seamless and real-time data exchange between various systems (i.e. WMS, MES, WCS) PLC’s, and IOT devices
Possess strong project management skills; able to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Collaborate on multi-disciplinary Agile teams to manage machine learning and other Data Science models
Analyze data and present findings to peers and senior management in a clear and concise manner
Qualification
Required
Bachelors Degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Controls, or equivalent Engineering Degree
Three plus (3+) years of experience and demonstrated success as a Manufacturing/Controls Engineer in an automotive manufacturing or assembly environment
Experience supporting automated assembly and error proofing systems, to include camera-based vision systems (e.g. Keyence, Cognex)
Strong understanding of the basic theory of industrial control systems applications, design, and operations including concepts of power distribution
PLC programming competency including the ability to write, troubleshoot, and understand ladder logic
Experience with business intelligence tools or platforms, such as Power BI
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams
Excellent project management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
Experience with system integration in enterprise settings
Proficiency in programming languages (e.g. Python, Java, Scala) and database scripting languages (e.g. SQL)
AutoCAD experience
Experience with Phoenix PC Works, Inderbus, Devicenet, RS View, Control Logix, and general vision systems such as Cognex and Keyence
